It's been a good year for Langham's Fifth Avenue property.
Not only did the hotel receive the honor of being named the number-one hotel in New York City by Conde Nast Traveler, it also launched a new Presidential Suite and debuted a new spa.
Now, the hotel has a new name. The Langham Place, New York will now go by The Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue.
"The renaming of our award-winning hotel in New York City will strengthen the brand's presence in both the United States and in cosmopolitan cities such as Shanghai, Hong Kong, Sydney, and Melbourne," said Simon Manning, chief sales and marketing officer, Langham Hospitality Group.
"As we plan to grow from the current portfolio of 16 hotels to 30 within five years, we look forward to developing a remarkable collection of luxury properties that will add immeasurable value and special memories for our guests," added Manning.
However, a new moniker doesn't mean there will be a change to the level of service.
"Our hotel, with its contemporary style, Alex Katz art pieces and an enviable location in one of the most exciting cities in the world, has always upheld the highest standards of sincere service that our guests have come to expect from any Langham hotel around the world," said Richard Bussiere, managing director of The Langham, New York.
"I am immensely proud of all that we accomplished in 2017 and look forward to beginning the new year as The Langham," Bussiere added.
The new 27th-floor Presidential Suite was designed by Roche Bobois and joins two penthouses also designed by the French retailer. The hotel also welcomed Chuan Body + Soul, its new full-service spa that offers a wide-ranging menu of skincare, massage and body treatments.
While Langham was honored as the top hotel in NYC, the brand as a whole was lauded by U.S. News & World Report.
The hotel company is currently growing its portfolio in the U.S. as well as around the world. The Langham, San Francisco will debut in 2020 in the city's trendy Soma neighborhood and the Langham, Wade Park, will open in 2019 just outside of Dallas.
