Maui welcomed a new oceanfront property to its roster of hotels this weekend as the Westin Nanea Ocean Villas received its first guests.
The property is tucked away on North Kaanapali Beach on 16 acres and features one-, two- and three-bedroom villas that have been designed with an emphasis on Hawaiian culture.
"Maui is one of the world's most desirable destinations, and we are excited to open our doors to this extraordinary resort," said Steve Williams, chief operating officer, Vistana Signature Experiences. "The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas is a truly unique resort that combines Hawaii's rich heritage with the aloha spirit for which the islands are known."
The resort's cultural director, Makalapua Kanuha, has given careful consideration to bringing the essence of Hawaii into every element of the resort experience at Westin Nanea.
"In the Hawaiian language, 'nanea' means to be in a state of relaxation," said Chris Rabang, general manager. "We are thrilled to begin welcoming guests and are looking forward to helping them embrace our resort's namesake through meaningful experiences and signature Westin features."

At the resort's heart is the Pu'uhonua o Nanea Cultural Center, which will offer guests the chance to experience educational cultural offerings such as local history, language, art, crafts, music and dance.
Staying true to the signature aspects of the Westin brand means that the resort will also offer a WestinWORKOUT fitness studio, Westin brand's SuperFoodsRx, Heavenly baths and, of course, Heavenly beds. Next door, at the The Westin Kaaanapali Ocean Resort Villas, guests will have access to Spa Helani, a Heavenly Spa by Westin.
There is also a lagoon-style swimming pool, a children's beach pool and play area, farm-to-table dining at Mauka Makai, the Inu Pool Bar and more.
