Two Delta Air Lines planes collided at LaGuardia Airport in New York City on Wednesday night, leaving one flight attendant injured.

According to CBS News, the incident occurred when a Delta plane carrying 32 passengers was preparing to depart for Roanoke, Virginia, smashed into the fuselage of another Delta aircraft arriving from Charlotte, North Carolina, with 61 people onboard at around 10 p.m. local time.

Photos and videos from the scene show one of the planes—both of which were regional jets, operated by Endeavor Air—with heavy damage to the nose and cockpit windows, while the other has a large chunk of its wing ripped off during the accident.

“We got absolutely smashed by another Delta flight,” CBS News producer Joey Annunziato, who was a passenger on the flight from Charlotte, said. “I don’t know if we hit them or they hit us, but it was super jarring.”

“Everyone shot forward in their seats and it was kind of a little chaotic as soon as it happened,” Annunziato continued. “We were shocked at what happened.”

Despite the extensive damage to both aircraft, no passengers were reported injured in either plane, but a flight attendant suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Officials said the collision did not impact LaGuardia’s airport operations.

Delta announced it would work with the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board regarding the accident.

“Delta teams at our New York-LaGuardia hub are working to ensure our customers are taken care of after two Delta Connection aircraft operated by Endeavor Air were involved in a low-speed collision during taxi,” a Delta spokesperson said.

“Delta will work with all relevant authorities to review what occurred as the safety of our customers and people comes before all else,” the airline’s statement continued. “We apologize to our customers for the experience.”
