The average
national price for a gallon of gas continues to drop.
If this keeps up,
who knows what we’ll do with all the extra change?
The price at the
pump dropped another six cents per gallon nationally last week. It is now down
to $3.24 a gallon. The primary culprits behind the dip are low demand and
falling oil costs. That’s not as low as it was a few years ago, but certainly
better than it was a few months ago.
For fall travelers, they are trending in
the right direction.
Meanwhile, the national average cost for
public electric vehicle charging finally moved after a static few months,
ticking a penny higher.
“There are an
ever-increasing number of states east of the Rockies that have some retail gas
locations selling regular for under $3 a gallon, so drivers will have more in
their wallets with autumn approaching,” said Andrew Gross, AAA
spokesperson. “Should the national average fall below $3, it will be the first
time since May 2021.
