National Hurricane Center Still Tracking Disturbance In The Caribbean

Meteorologists like to predict that the Atlantic Basin hurricane season goes until November 30.

As we get ready to enter the 11th month of the year, that appears to be the case.

The National Hurricane Center is tracking a tropical disturbance in the southwestern Caribbean that could further develop later in the week and once again possibly disrupt travel. 

Forecasters had predicted an unusually active hurricane season and we are already up to 15 named storms, including two within two weeks of each other, Helene and Milton, that hammered Florida. More than 3,500 flights were delayed or canceled in one day because of Milton. 

“Some gradual development of this system will be possible through the end of next week while it meanders or drifts northeastward over the southwestern Caribbean Sea,” forecasters at the NHC said.
