Hurricane Rosa weakened into a tropical storm Sunday and is expected to make landfall along the Baja California Peninsula late Monday.
According to The Associated Press, the National Hurricane Center revealed the tropical storm will impact Mexico with maximum sustained winds of 70 miles per hour, up to 10 inches of rain and flooding throughout the region.
Once Rosa makes landfall, the storm will move north toward the southwest United States, where it is expected to dump 2-4 inches of rain to the Mogollon Rim of Arizona, the Central Rockies and the Great Basin.
With the tropical storm's current trajectory, the National Weather Service has issued flash-flood watches through Wednesday for portions of Nevada, California, Utah and Arizona.
While airlines have not yet started waiving change fees for flights to the region, carriers are monitoring the storm situation to determine if any actions will be needed in the coming days.
