Winter Storm Jonas has already come and gone, but the snow and ice left over is causing major headaches for travelers along the East Coast Monday.
With wintery conditions still causing cancellations and delays on airport runways, train tracks and roadways across the Northeast, people must be ready for longer travel times and unfavorable conditions.
As of 9 a.m. ET, FlightAware.com was reporting that 2,063 flights were delayed and another 1,522 were canceled for Monday. Over the weekend, TravelPulse also reported that almost 9,000 flights had been canceled Saturday and Sunday.

In a report from CNN.com, some of the notable snowfall totals included John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City (31 inches), Baltimore-Washington International Airport (29.2 inches), Washington Dulles International Airport (28 inches) and Philadelphia International Airport (22 inches).
Even with the best snow-removal equipment available, it's going to take a considerable amount of time to adequately clear runways, train tracks and roads. For those in New Jersey, another major problem has been coastal flooding, which in some places was reportedly worse than the devastation caused by Superstorm Sandy.

In Pennsylvania, accidents on late Friday night into Saturday morning involved around 500 vehicles and brought the Pennsylvania Turnpike to a standstill, inhibiting a major travel artery for the state.
As for closures, many local schools and United States federal government offices in Washington, D.C., Baltimore Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York City will not open Monday. There are also widespread delays throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
According to multiple reports, at least 16 deaths have also been attributed to Winter Storm Jonas.
