Bettridge Resigns from Unique Vacations

In a surprise move, Ellen Bettridge resigned this week as president of Unique Vacations, the Miami-based U.S. representative for Sandals Resorts International. Bettridge joined Unique Vacations in January after spending fewer than two years as president - the Americas for luxury operator Silversea Cruises.

Prior to joining Silversea, Bettridge spent 20 years with American Express, starting as a travel agent and eventually being named vice president of the company's U.S. retail travel network. Bettridge was named president at Unique Vacations following the 2013 departure of Kevin Froemming, who left the position to join Hyatt Resorts' all-inclusive resort division.
