Tern expanded its agency back office offerings awith a new financial hub designed to help travel advisors and travel agencies not only track unpaid commissions, but take steps to collect them.
The platform already connects commission data from the original booking to an agency’s financial workflow, providing a clearer view of what they are owed and helping them reconcile expected payments with incoming commissions. The new tools are designed to make it easier to identify unpaid commission, create supplier invoices and follow up until payment is received.
Turning Commission Data Into Action
“With this new release, agencies can collect on unpaid commission by generating supplier invoices directly in Tern,” the company said. “Because the booking and commission details are already in the platform, agencies do not have to re-enter information, chase records across systems, or rely on separate tools to get paid.”
Tern added: “The need is significant: Commtrak has estimated that $7.5 billion in advisor commissions go unpaid or unclaimed each year.”
Expanding Agency Financial Management
In addition to helping advisors collect on unpaid commissions, Tern, which serves as an all-in-one platform for travel advisors, travel agencies and hosts, features a new financial suite that “ helps reduce manual work tied to advisor payouts, commission splits, service fees, and membership dues, giving owners a more complete financial picture,” the company said.
“Agency owners should not have to spend hours chasing records, reconciling payments, or wondering what money is still outstanding,” said Tern CEO David Shull.
“The goal is not just to replace disconnected tools. It is to help agencies recover more of what they have earned, pay advisors with confidence, and grow with a clearer financial picture of the business,” he added.
