Britain is known for its marquee sites, landmarks, and destinations. But, it's also filled with hidden gems that few visitors experience. That's why the Globus Family of Brands is introducing Undiscovered Britain in 2019. Globus, Cosmos and the new Cosmos Lite tours will offer a different way to see England, Scotland, and Wales.
"Next year, we're asking travelers to say 'cheerio' to typical tours for a better, more brilliant way to enjoy true British life, on cobblestones less traveled," said Scott Nisbet, president and chief executive officer for the Globus family of brands. "Building upon the success of our new 'Undiscovered Italy' tours, these new vacations in England, Scotland and Wales invite travelers to explore the incredible 'secret' places where locals holiday."
The Undiscovered Britain tours range from six to 14 days. New in the lineup is the 12-day Britain Uncovered tour, featuring historic Exeter, Widecombe-in-the-Moor, Tintern and Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-Upon-Avon.
The new six-day Hidden Treasures of Southern England tour ventures to the famous seaside spa town of Bath, the rolling hills and hamlets of the Cotswolds, Tetbury and the Isle of Wight. Also new is the seven-day Scottish Escape, featuring Glengoyne, Pitlochry, and Culloden.
Cosmos is also unveiling two new Great Britain tours.
The six-day British Highlights tour visits the capitals of London, Edinburgh, and Cardiff, as well as the legendary Lake District. And, the seven-day Scottish Outlander Adventure travels to Glasgow, the Isle of Skye, Stirling Castle, Loch Ness, and other destinations made famous in the Outlander book and TV series.
For more of an á la carte option, new Cosmos Lite vacations offer the freedom to tailor-make travels. Two Undiscovered Britain tours for 2019 include the seven-day England Explorer and the seven-day Scottish explorer.
Vanessa Parrish, channel marketing manager for the Globus Family of Brands, said Undiscovered Britain is just what the market needs.
"Once you've been to London and Edinburgh, people often think they've seen it all. But, we knew there were lots of off the beaten path destinations that only a tour operator can do well," said Parrish. "We really think it's going to resonate with agents and give them a great opportunity to call a client back. Who wouldn't want to return to Great Britain to explore the hamlets and cottages that most tourists never see?"
