When it comes to tours, one company travelers can consistently count on is Collette.

Not only have they been around for a century, but they continue to innovate and provide high-quality trips to travelers of all types.

To get a sense of what's going on with Collette now, TravelPulse went one-on-one with Dan Sullivan, Jr. CEO of Collette.

A member of the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA) and the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP), Sullivan has over 45 years in the travel industry. He was a key force in taking Collette from a regional tour operator to a global company and an industry leader.

Sullivan manages the corporate team and provides the strategic vision for the company - and he still remains active in every aspect of the business, including tour guiding, product development, sales, and marketing.

TravelPulse: What new and exciting things should travelers know about Collette?

Dan Sullivan, Jr.: Collette recently celebrated 100 years in business, making us the longest running tour operator in North America.

Over time, we have learned just how important it is to really look at the upcoming trends in travel and make decisions about the future as a result of these. We launched our explorations line earlier this year in order to cater to those who want the most immersive experience possible, where guests enjoy the opportunity to really live like a local. Head to www.explorations.com for more information.

TP: How does Collette work with travel agents?

DS: Travel professionals account for a major part of our business - it's important that we provide the support and tools necessary to travel agents so that they can be successful in their own rights.

With modules as part of our e-learning programs and the opportunity to earn travel discounts and incentives, our travel agents have the opportunity to travel the world while learning the business.

TP: What advice would you give someone who has never done a long tour vacation?

DS: Guided travel has so many benefits that many might not even think of. Guests are able to see and do more with the added benefit of a tour manager by their side - we handle all of the details such as finding the best restaurants, hotels, and experiences so that the guest doesn't have to!

TP: What are the most popular tours?

DS: For years, our Shades of Ireland and Canadian Rockies have remained in the top 10, with tours in France and Italy really picking up in momentum over the past few years.

TP: Do you have any current specials or promotions?

DS: Visit www.collette.com for the latest deals and promotions!
