ALG Vacations Unveils New FAM Strategy for 2024

ALG Vacations (ALGV) has announced a new FAM strategy for the year ahead, introducing "ALGV Pros on the Go."

The two mega-FAMs will replace the 20 escorted FAMs that ALGV hosted in previous years without decreasing the number of travel advisors attending or hotels toured, the company announced Monday.

The 2024 trips will take place in Cancun, Mexico from April 9-13 and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic from June 19-23, with invitees being selected by ALGV Business Development Managers and will include advisors from all U.S. sales regions, along with host agencies.

According to the award-winning collection of vacation brands, participants will include a mix of opportunity and seasoned advisors who can benefit and better grow sales from a first-hand look at properties. All travel advisor participants are required to complete ALGVPro certification before travel.

ALGV Pros on the Go will comprise approximately 150 travel advisors staying at multiple resorts and touring one of eight unique hotel itineraries. The FAM agenda will also include excursions, a giveback activity and a one-day training session. The latter will consist of presentations and workshops from ALGV in addition to third-party seminars on destination photography and confidently charging professional fees.

"ALGV FAMs are incredibly popular and tend to fill up quickly," Jacqueline Marks, ALGV’s Global Head of Trade Brands, said in a statement. "We wanted to streamline the process for our sales and events teams and leverage the larger education and networking opportunity with advisors and the ALGV staff, incorporating the highest value components of our Ascend conference on a smaller scale."
