Agent to Agent: High-End Clients

Dear Tammy: One of the newest and hottest trends is high-end travel. Since it’s possible to rent your own island nowadays, do you think clients will go for this?
Tammy: I do think there are clients who would be very interested in renting their own private island. The question is—are you going to sell this high-end travel option to your clients? Do you have a client base whose focus is on high-end luxury travel? While high-end travel is definitely trending right now, and it’s a great niche to be a part of… do you think you have the client base to sell high-end vacation travel?
Because every market is a niche you need to be able to market to this niche. You need to understand how they think, their likes and dislikes, what they spend their money on, etc. so that you can sell to them and expect the best results. The mindset of high-end clients is different from other clients, so you’ll have to understand this mindset so you can market to them properly.
When clients are paying a lot of money for their travels they expect you to always be one step ahead. They will assume that their travel agent will take care of everything without them having to ask for anything. Because they're paying for high-end vacations, they won’t accept anything less than high-end service.
Think about adding value to your services when dealing with high-end clients. What else can you do so that high-end travelers will choose you as there travel agent? Over other travel agents?
If your goal is to start focusing and marketing to high-end clients, there are a few things you can do in addition to understanding their traveling wants and needs.
Let people know that you’re focusing on offering high-end travel services. The impression you should be making is you're a professional who provides your clients with the high-quality travel services they deserve. Making a few travel packages promoting the high-end travel services you’ve decided to sell to your clients is a great idea and gives them an idea of what you can do for them.
Figuring out who your client base is and doing everything in your power to make your clients happy and satisfied is going to go a long way in understanding your travel business!
Just be sure that you value yourself and your services because the way you view yourself and your business is going to come across to your clients.
