Now, getting around Argentina on your vacation is even easier on Aerolineas Argentinas.

The national airline announced it has opened new routes centered around the city of Cordoba, about 400 miles from Buenos Aires.

Aerolineas Argentinas earlier this month began six weekly flights, Sunday to Friday, from Cordoba to Rio Cuarto to Buenos Aires, resuming a connection that it had stopped operating 20 years ago. The new flights will depart Cordoba at 6:30 a.m., arriving in Rio Cuarto at 7:20 a.m., depart from that city at 8 a.m., and arriving in Buenos Aires at 9:10 a.m.

The reverse route, Buenos Aires-Río Cuarto-Cordoba departs at 8:25 p.m., arrives in Rio Cuarto at 9:50 p.m. and ends in Cordoba at 11:20 p.m. The airline reports that passengers' interest in the new route is reflected in the percentage of reservations made for the first flights between Buenos Aires and Rio Cuarto, which exceeded 60 percent of the seats offered.

After Buenos Aires, Cordoba is the city with the greatest connectivity for Aerolineas Argentinas, serving as a hub with direct flights to Buenos Aires, Rosario, Resistencia, Ushuaia, and the provinces of Santa Cruz, Tucumán, Jujuy, Salta and Mendoza with more than 70 weekly frequencies.

Isela Costantini, President of the Aerolíneas Group said in a statement, "This new flight to Rio Cuarto shows that we keep on working so that Cordoba is consolidated as a "focus city", offering our Cordoba passengers the possibility to fly more and better, with new frequencies and more connectivity with the rest of the country and abroad."

Aerolineas Argentinas also introduced a new route that connects Cordoba and Resistencia with three weekly flights that will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. These three weekly flights from Cordoba are in addition to the 20 weekly flights that are operated from Buenos Aires to Resistencia.
