Yes.
It's true.
It snows in Argentina.
When you think Argentina you automatically think heat - naturally, from the hot sun, or otherwise (tango, anyone?). But although you have to go south - really south - into South America to find it, it's there.
Snow, and the unmistakable sounds of schussing.
And Aerolineas Argentinas can fly you there.
In fact, this is the best time of year.
Huh?
Yes, while we often refer to the dog days of August because of its heat and humidity, we are smack dab in the middle of the ski season in Argentina that runs from mid-June to October.

Argentina's traditional winter break is mid- to late July, making the rest of the season even more accessible to tourists and less crowded. Remember, this is a country with one of the great mountain ranges in the world in the Andes, and there are about a dozen or so ski resorts based in the Patagonia, Lakes District and Mendoza regions of Argentina.
And the best thing about it is, there is skiing for every level. Las Leñas is arguably one of the greatest areas in the world, much less the country, with its peak reaching 13,000 feet. Annual snowfall at Las Leñas is almost 21 feet, so there's plenty for powder hounds. In addition, the area is teeming with great restaurants and hopping nightlife - seriously, did you expect anything less from Argentina? - so this is a true ski vacation package.
The farther south you go, the lower the altitudes get. The weather in Patagonia is much cooler and the skiing is a bit easier at 6,500 feet and less, including cross country skiing.
