In Ubud, yoga studios are like Starbucks in North America - there's one on every corner.
With that said, this can be a blessing if you have time and the funds to try them all or a curse, leaving you questioning if there's something better around the bend.
After countless days of hunting for the best studios in Ubud, I have narrowed it down to the top three, as seen below!
Intuitive Flow: Hidden Oasis
The location is a little out of the way from central Ubud, but once you reach the top of the footpath and see its lookout point, you won't mind the distance to get there.
The studio has a cozy ambiance, is well equipped with yoga mats and full of natural light with a beautiful view - perfect for getting you in the right mindset.
The instructor Eva for Gentle Flow Yoga and Robyn for Vinyasa Flow were friendly, informative and helpful with beginners and went at a steady pace so everyone could follow along.

The class size was small, making it feel overall more intimate in comparison to larger studios, which feel more like a gym rather than a studio.
I came into the class not having practiced in months and feeling a bit rusty, but by the end of the 1.5 hour flow, I felt calm, relaxed and at a slower pace.

The Yoga Barn: Community Yoga
The Yoga Barn is world-renowned, with a wide range of yoga classes, workshops, meditation and dance classes that you ultimately could try something new every day with great, informative teachers to guide you.
I attended a free community class at the Yoga Barn on Friday and I have to say - the grounds themselves, especially the upper studio looking over the rice paddies are impressive and beautiful, but may be a little overwhelming for newbies.
The overall vibe felt a little on the snobby side at times and the class size was far too large for my liking. But the instructor was wonderful, upbeat and informative.
I highly recommend you take a class or two here to experience it, but if you're looking for something a little more hands-on and intimate, I would recommend going elsewhere.
Radiantly Alive Yoga: One week unlimited classes
Out of all the yoga studios I attended, I found Radiantly Alive to be the perfect balance of all studios and opted for the one-week unlimited pass, taking as many classes as I could squeeze into a day. Regardless of which class I attended, the teachers were exceptional, hands-on and I was never disappointed whether I was attending a Fly High yoga class, Salsa or Gentle Flow!

The class sizes are moderate - not too overcrowded or too small, the atmosphere was inviting with all levels of yogis and they have all proper equipment needed for each class.
