Bowman’s Travel Brief: Offering Unlimited Packages

Recently, Casa Velas in Mexico announced it would be offering an unlimited golf package for guests.

My first reaction – where do I sign up? I love golf, even though I’m not that great at it. Nailing the occasional green in regulation or sinking the nice long putt keeps me coming back though.

My second reaction was pondering, why isn’t this more of a thing?

The idea of playing as much golf as I want, and it’s already paid for, sounds like a terrific vacation. I’m not the only average golfer out there who would agree with that statement.

Unlimited packages are a fantastic way to entice travelers to stay at a property. People love all-inclusive resorts for being able to eat and drink to their heart’s desire. Add to that with enhancements like unlimited golf and you’re going to win over some new guests.

It doesn’t have to be just golf or hotel-related. We’ve already seen Frontier dive into the unlimited flights game with their all-you-can-fly pass offer.

Now imagine unlimited spa credits, unlimited cruises, unlimited rail travel passes, unlimited ski lift passes…I could go on and on.

Of course, there’s always the fine print to these and they’re often available only for a limited time. A business wouldn’t be able to sustain itself by offering unlimited packages all the time. Even the all-inclusive resorts have their upcharges and add-ons for an extra cost.

But perhaps it should be something more places consider offering here and there. We’ll always be enticed by the idea of something being unlimited.

What would be the unlimited package deal that would get you traveling?
