When the travel industry comes together, it’s a beautiful thing.
I was able to witness this once again this past week during the 2024 Travel Advisor Conference.
First, ASTA’s grassroots efforts had paid off with the surprise announcement from American Airlines about reversing course on their AAdvantage and NDC implementation.
Seeing the industry rejoice over this, and hearing more and more suppliers note how valuable the travel advisor is to their business, was a joyous sight to see.
And then it was all capped off with a big night for the industry at ASTA’s annual Advocacy Dinner.
The fundraising gala event saw the industry band together to raise nearly $500,000 for the ASTAPAC. A special thanks to Travefy for the invitation to sit at their table.
Travel industry events help businesses thrive in so many ways. They also offer industry professionals a chance to breathe from the daily grind. The ability to connect with new peers and hang out with old friends is another layer in what helps keep us moving forward.
When’s your next industry event?
