There is a minimalistic sensation sweeping the nation, but travelers Guillaume Dutilh and Jenna Spesard are taking it to the extreme by traveling across the United State and Canada in a house that is just 125 square feet.

According to Brittany Jones Cooper of Yahoo Travel, the house was built on a trailer frame and measures 20 feet wide and six feet high with 10-feet tall ceilings. Add in a second-floor loft acting as the couple's bedroom, and this is truly a mobile home.

As for some of the amenities the mini house has for the couple, Jones Cooper is reporting that the structure has, "hardwood floors, a propane fridge, a washing machine, a propane cooktop stove, and a bathroom with a shower and a toilet."

The official Twitter accounts of TheTabula.com and Buzzfeed shared images of the building:

When asked about the decision to build a small house and drive it across the United States and Canada, Dutilh told William J. Dowd of The Marblehead Reporter:

"We stumbled upon the tiny-house movement, and I said, 'This could be cool.' We've never built anything or gone a journey like this, and it's a good challenge, and we can make it our own. We wanted to do the journey in a fun way, a new, different approach."

The couple started building the mini house from scratch in 2013 and it took almost a full year to complete. According to Jones Cooper, the home cost about $29,328 to build and the trip began on Sep. 2, 2014, almost a year to the day since the couple began building the structure.

The couple's journey began in Shelbyville, Illinois, and has already taken the duo up the East Coast of the United States, through Canada and then from Maine all the way south to Florida along the coastline.

After hitting the East Coast, the mini house made its way along the Gulf Coast, through Texas and now the couple is currently in White Sands National Park. To follow the incredible trip, Dutilh and Spesard started the website TinyHouseGiantJourney.com to let everyone know where they are and where they are heading next.

Traveling the United States would be a dream come true for many people, but doing it with a miniature house attached to your pickup truck would make the experience all that much more memorable.

Let the minimalistic sensation continue spreading after seeing the success of Dutilh and Spesard.
