If you're not a diehard ski and snowboard enthusiast, skiing may be the furthest thing from your mind as you cool off at the pool to avoid the summer heat.
However, August is a good time to start planning for winter breaks, and Club Med can either warm you up at tropical resorts worldwide or cool you off at any of its more than 20 alpine ski resorts.

In December, Club Med will welcome a new alpine ski resort to its winter portfolio: Club Med Samoens Morillon in the French Alps. The resort is located in the Grand Massif ski domain, close to the medieval city of Samoens and just over an hour's drive from major transport hubs such as Chamonix and Geneva.
The ski region of Grand Massif is, as the name implies, vast. There are more than 165 miles of skiable terrain located in the preserved natural site.
Club Med has centered the resort experience around families with ski instruction starting at age 4. Children and teen clubs are available for babies as young as 4 months old up to age 17.
Welcoming parents with babies is among what Club Med does best.
Just as with its other resorts, Samoens Morillon offers all the baby equipment that parents need. There is a baby-food buffet, called the Baby Corner, which is located in the restaurant and serves a variety of sweet and savory baby foods. The Baby Feeding and Equipment Room houses mixers, bottle sterilizers, microwaves, a refrigerator, water and more.
The Club Med Baby Welcome also includes cots, changing mats, a baby bathtub, a highchair, bottle warmers and anything parents need for the duration of their stay-you literally pack nothing. Even strollers are included at parents' request.

Convenience is key to any and all of Club Med's winter resorts, and Samoens Morillon is no different. Lift tickets are available upon arrival, there is direct access to lifts from the resort, lockers are available for equipment storage and fast passes to skip the lift line are included.
The resort features 336 guest rooms-with Club Rooms, Deluxe Rooms and suites. Club Rooms are ideal for families, sleeping up to four people. Deluxe rooms comfortably sleep three people, while suites are as large as 635 square feet and can sleep up to four.
Rooms are elegantly appointed and offer bathrobes, bottled water, laundry service and more. Suites have turndown service and the option for room service at breakfast.
In addition to a family dining experience, the main restaurant is open for all meals, featuring an array of international cuisines and a sprawling buffet. The gourmet lounge La Skyline features creations from Michelin-starred chef Edouard Loubet.
Families will also find two swimming pools on the property, along with a steam bath, sauna, fitness center and Club Med Spa by Carita.
