Fittingly, tech-savvy YOTEL plans to debut a hotel in Boston's new 1,000-acre Innovation District, a city initiative designed to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship.
The 326-room property, which is scheduled to open in 2017 in South Boston, will provide guests with all of the brand's high-tech features and amenities, including SmartBeds with space-saving mattresses that transform into flatbeds into couches with the touch of a bottom, and techno-walls with flat-screen televisions.
"YOTEL's distribution in this up-and-coming location will continue to drive the recognition and loyalty we envision for the brand," said Hubert Viriot, YOTEL's CEO. "I am confident that Boston's residents and visitors will embrace the unique experience and affordable luxury accommodation we will deliver."
The company said the 11-story property will be equipped with myriad public rooms and food and beverage outlets, including an indoor-outdoor roof deck.
YOTEL, which operates a hotel in Manhattan, has five other city hotels under development. In 2017, it is scheduled to open hotels in Williamsburg, Brooklyn; Singapore; Miami; San Francisco; and Dubai.
The company also operates hotels at London's Gatwick and London airports, and Amsterdam's Schiphol airport. It is slated to debut properties at Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport next year and at Singapore's Changi airport in 2017.
