Cruise Planners/American Express has signed on Aidy Alonzo as its senior director of marketing. Alonzo joins the home office team with more than 10 years experience in the marketing profession with background working for travel and cruise companies. As senior director of marketing, Alonzo will work closely with Vicky Garcia, senior vice president of sales and marketing, on all marketing strategies for the franchise company, including consumer marketing and prospecting new franchise owners. Additionally, one of her main objectives is to market to consumers to keep them coming back to Cruise Planners' agents. Alonzo also plans to develop initiatives to provide home-based agents with the right tools to better market themselves to consumers and establish a stronger client base.
Alonzo previously worked at Oceania Cruises, developing campaigns for direct mail, consumers and international marketing strategies. Alonzo also held a position as director of onboard revenue management for Prestige Cruise Holdings, overseeing onboard revenue for the six vessels of Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. A native Floridian born in Cocoa Beach, she graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor's degree in communications and major in print journalism.
