Countries Vaccinated Americans Can Visit Without a COVID-19 Test

Where Americans Can Visit Without a COVID-19 Test

1/23
If you're vaccinated and eager to travel internationally without the added stress of having to get a COVID-19 test to enter your desired destination, check out these twenty countries that any vaccinated American can travel to, sans test. However, even if you travel to a country that does not require a COVID-19 test upon entry, the U.S. still requires travelers to be tested prior to arrival within the country, including vaccinated Americans. Be aware as well that many countries want travelers to be fully vaccinated at least two weeks prior to entry, but some requirements are longer. Make sure to visit the U.S. Department of State's country-specific COVID-19 travel advisory pages to learn more. The U.S. Department of State also recommends travelers get vaccinated prior to international travel.

Austria

2/23
As of July 5th, Austria can allow vaccinated Americans into its beautiful country without a negative COVID-19 test result in hand. Travelers who have been fully vaccinated for at least three weeks can enter the country, as well as unvaccinated individuals who bring proof of recovery from COVID-19 within the past 180 days or a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours prior to arrival.

Czech Republic

3/23
As of June 25th, the United States has been included into the Czech Republic's green list of countries, which means that travelers can enter with little to no entry requirements. Should the U.S. fall back into the country's 'moderate' category, visitors will have to be tested prior to entry despite vaccination, and fill out a Passenger Locator form.

Denmark

4/23
Denmark now allows many travelers into the country, though vaccinated Americans can enter without a mandatory COVID-19 test result and quarantine period. The U.S. is currently classified as a 'yellow' country, with moderate risk, so more requirements are necessary for unvaccinated Americans.

Ecuador & The Galapagos

5/23
Ecuador, including the beautiful Galapagos archipelago, is now allowing U.S. citizens to enter sans negative test result as long as they bring proof of vaccination at least 14 days prior to entering the country. Unvaccinated Americans who have recovered from COVID-19 at least 30 days prior to entry do not have to be tested for COVID-19, provided they bring proof of recovery.

France

6/23
Vaccinated individuals from 'green' countries, including those from the United States, are not subjected to any restrictions or requirements beyond vaccination for entry into France. Like many other countries' requirements, those who are unvaccinated must be tested negative prior to arrival.

Germany

7/23
Travelers who enter Germany with their vaccination cards can enjoy no added requirements or restrictions in their travel. Unvaccinated travelers from the U.S. must provide proof of recovery or be tested negative prior to entry.

Greece

8/23
Americans who visit Greece with their vaccination cards won't have to get COVID-19 tests, but they will still have to fill out the Passenger Locator Form and wear masks when applicable, in all indoor areas. Inter-island travel is allowed without testing, but they are recommended. Please visit the U.S. Embassy & Consulate in Greece's website for more information.

Iceland

9/23
Iceland, like many of the countries in this list, allows fully vaccinated individuals to enter without testing or quarantine requirements. The volcanic island was one of the first to open for fully vaccinated individuals back in January, but it was only open for European Union/European Economic Area countries.

Italy

10/23
Italy is allowing Americans to enter without quarantine or testing if they are vaccinated and they have a Green Pass, which must be applied for prior to entry. Travelers must still fill out the Passenger Locator Form. The Green Pass is valid until July 30, 2021.

Montenegro

11/23
As of July 3, U.S. citizens, vaccinated or unvaccinated, coming to Montenegro from the U.S. and a list of approved countries need not be tested for COVID-19 prior to arrival or quarantine themselves once they arrive. Please click here to read the information about the new rule.

Morocco

12/23
Americans who have been fully vaccinated can travel to Morocco without being testing for COVID-19. Mask-wearing and social distancing are still highly encouraged and sometimes required. The risk of COVID-19 to a vaccinated individual is low in Morocco, but the U.S. Department of State has raised the country's risk level to Level 3 due to terrorism.

Poland

13/23
Poland still adheres to somewhat strict restrictions for unvaccinated travelers, so it's important to get vaccinated if you're planning on traveling there anytime soon. Unvaccinated Americans will have to quarantine for ten days, which can be shortened by being tested seven days after arriving in Poland.

Slovenia

14/23
Travelers from the U.S. can enter Slovenia if they have recovered from COVID-19 or have been fully vaccinated, provided they bring proof. No negative COVID-19 test result is necessary for these travelers, though it is for unvaccinated individuals. As of right now, masks are required in the country in all indoor areas as well as outdoors when social distancing isn't possible.

Switzerland

15/23
Americans who are vaccinated or who have recovered from COVID-19 can enter Switzerland without taking a COVID-19 test. Some events and venues do require you to show proof of vaccination, though. Masks are currently required indoors, although there are no longer any capacity limits in restaurants and cafes.

Turkey

16/23
Turkey has similar entry requirements to many of the other countries on this list: if you have been vaccinated for at least 14 days or have recovered from COVID-19 within the last six months and can show proof of either of these things, you can enter the country without having to quarantine or take any COVID-19 tests.

Bahamas

17/23
Travelers who'd like to visit the Bahamas must apply for the Bahamas Travel Health Visa prior to their vacation. To forgo the tests, travelers must have received their second dose 14 days prior to entering the country. The Bahamas has created a page on its website to help travelers navigate all of the required paperwork, complete with an interactive map that details each of the islands' reopening phases.

Belize

18/23
Belize is welcoming travelers from the U.S. who are vaccinated, without having to take any COVID-19 tests. Should you not be fully vaccinated when you travel, Belize does accept a negative COVID-19 test up to 96 hours prior to arrival or upon arrival to the airport, with a fee. Travelers are required to complete a Customs and Immigration form on their flight and stay at a Gold Standard hotel during their stay.

Croatia

19/23
Americans who are fully vaccinated or who have proof of recovery from COVID-19 can enter Croatia without having to take any COVID-19 tests. Masks are currently mandatory indoors and outdoors when social distancing is not possible. Please see the full entry requirements and further information here.

Georgia

20/23
Vaccinated Americans will now be welcomed into Georgia without taking a COVID-19 test as long as they provide proof of vaccination. The mask mandate and the countrywide curfew have both ended. Please click here for the best information about entry requirements into Georgia.

Mexico

21/23
Mexico's land border is restricted to essential travel only, but you can fly anywhere in Mexico, vaccinated or unvaccinated, without having to take a COVID-19 test to enter the country. However, you do still have to test negative up to three days prior to coming back to the United States.

Costa Rica

22/23
The beautiful and biodiverse country that is Costa Rica does not require a negative COVID-19 test result prior to entering the country, but travelers must fill out the country's Health Pass form and provide proof of adequate travel health insurance.

Dominican Republic

23/23
The Caribbean half-island nation of the Dominican Republic is allowing any travelers from a list of pre-approved countries to enter without vaccinations or tests. However, the country requires travelers to fill out three separate forms, including the Traveler's Health Affidavit. Airlines will do random tests, check each passenger's temperature and those who present COVID-19-like symptoms will be isolated.
