Vacations (ALGV) has reported exceptional results from its travel advisor
specialist program, ALGVPro, just 18 months after its launch. Over 12,000
advisors have completed the ALGVPro certification, significantly enhancing
their performance. Certified advisors typically book 10 percent more than their
non-certified counterparts, and they also excel in selling Travel Protection
Plus (TPP), Exclusive Nonstop Vacation Flights (ENVF) and luxury products,
leading to higher commissions.
ALGVPro is a
comprehensive, self-paced, on-demand online education program designed to help
travel advisors master ALGV’s destinations, products, brands, services and more.
The online modules cover a broad range of topics, from effectively and
efficiently using the VAX
VacationAccess platform to strategies for selling European destinations and
choosing the best TPP options for individual clients.
The program offers
two main paths for advisors. The Recommended Path, which most advisors begin
with, starts with basic courses and advances to more complex ones, while the
Accelerated Path allows experienced advisors to skip the introductory modules
and jump straight into advanced learning.
Sarah Bonsall, a
travel advisor at Latitude 21 Travel, praised the program, stating, "The
Recommended path is great even for experienced advisors. I have been working in
VAX since the beginning and (even I have) learned new stuff!" The modules,
ranging from three to 11 minutes each, are designed to be completed in small
bites at one’s own pace.
ALGVPro helps
advisors understand the nuanced distinctions between ALGV’s six individual
brands, enabling them to match clients with the most options most suited to their
needs and desires.

Achieving ALGVPro
certification comes with numerous exclusive benefits. Only certified advisors
are eligible to win certain prizes and earn WAVEMAKER status, a recognition of
the top 1,000 highest-producing advisors in ALGV’s WAVES loyalty program. Certification is
also a requirement for advisors to participate in FAM trips and such exclusive events
as Ascend, since their training enables them to benefit the most by being forearmed
with specific knowledge.
ALGVPro certification
also enables advisors to:
- Earn up to five continuing education
unit (CEU) credits from The Travel Institute
- Access special marketing materials to
proclaim their new ALGVPro status
- Become eligible for quarterly
giveaways of hotel stays and exclusive nonstop vacation flight (ENVF) seats
- Take advantage of a one-time
reduced-rate air seat on any ENVF booked 30-60 days in advance of
departure at the 30-to-0-day fare, as part of ALGV’s Discounted Agent
