MLT Vacations launched a new loyalty program for travel agents called the MLT Vacations Diamond Program and it replaces MLT's earlier Star program.
"The new Diamond Program is more robust, more dynamic, and is based on recommendations from travel agency feedback and surveys, competitive analysis and internal focus groups," said MLT Vacations President John Caldwell. "We felt strongly that simply tweaking the previous program would not be sufficient. The new program reflects our ongoing appreciation of and commitment to our top-producing travel agency partners."
With the new loyalty program, MLT gets another step closer to its parent company Delta Air Lines, which became the parent company when Delta acquired Northwest Airlines, MLT's former owner. The new MLT Vacations Diamond Program takes advantage of Delta's resources.
Benefits of the program include discounts that can be passed to clients, personal travel benefits such as hotel discounts and complimentary air, Diamond-only recognition trips, listings on the travel agency locators on Delta Vacations and Aeromexico Vacations consumer websites, advanced notification of training opportunities including MLT University, and invitations to partner and supplier events.
Travel agents can attain different levels of benefits, including Diamond, Diamond Preferred and Diamond Elite, based on sales and growth. The Star program had two levels. The third was added to create a higher level of rewards that can be earned.
"Having a third category not only allows us to better reward our top-producing accounts, it also provides us with higher levels of engagement with entry-level Diamond accounts and growth accounts," said Caldwell.
The Diamond program applies to sales of MLT packages for not only Delta Air Lines but also Delta's strategic partners Air France, Alitalia and Aeromexico, More information is available at MLT's agent-only website.
