Air France-KLM has introduced its new Air France-KLM Visa Signature card in the United States, marking a significant upgrade to its Flying Blue loyalty program for American travelers.
The card, which launched January 21, 2026, replaces the airline's long-standing Mastercard co-branded product and brings a revamped set of rewards designed to help members earn status faster and get more from everyday spending.
The switch from Mastercard to Visa comes as part of Flying Blue's broader strategy to expand its co-branded card partnerships across key global markets.
Bank of America remains the issuing partner, and the $89 annual fee stays unchanged—a notable value point in an increasingly crowded U.S. travel rewards landscape dominated by cards from Chase, American Express and Capital One.

At the heart of the new card's appeal is an upgraded earning structure.
Cardholders now earn 3 miles per dollar on direct bookings with Air France, KLM and SkyTeam partner airlines, as well as a newly added 3 miles per dollar on dining—a category that was not previously accelerated. All other purchases earn 1.5 miles per dollar, giving members a solid baseline return on general spending.
For Flying Blue loyalists, however, the most compelling additions may be the changes to how cardholders can earn Experience Points, or XPs, which determine elite status within the program. Upon renewal, members automatically receive 5,000 bonus miles and 20 XPs.
Cardholders who spend $15,000 or more annually earn an additional 80 XPs, and those who reach $25,000 in annual spend can accumulate up to a total of 160 XPs from the card alone — putting them within striking distance of Flying Blue Gold status.
New members are also greeted with strong acquisition offers.
The standard welcome bonus is 50,000 miles plus 100 XPs after $2,000 in spending within the first three months. A limited promotional offer bumps that to 70,000 miles and 100 XPs after $3,000 in spend. Those 100 XPs are significant: They confer instant Flying Blue Silver status, which includes benefits such as priority check-in and boarding, extra baggage allowance and advance seat selection.
Existing World Elite Mastercard holders will be automatically transitioned to the new Visa product, with most cardholders receiving their new card this month. All new benefits, including the 3x dining rate, became available to existing members at launch on January 21.
Air France continues to invest in the U.S. market in addition to the VISA Signature card, including new onboard products like free high-speed Wi-Fi and more U.S. gateways such as Phoenix, which will have five nonstop flights to Paris this summer.
