Since Air France announced complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi across its fleet earlier this year, travelers have had a compelling new reason to fly with the French carrier. The service, powered by Starlink's global satellite network, is available in all travel cabins and completely free, making long-haul flights more productive and enjoyable than ever before.
Accessing the service is straightforward. Passengers simply log into their Flying Blue account once on board, and they're connected. Those without an account can create one directly on the aircraft in just a few minutes.
From there, the options are impressive: streaming films and series, catching up on global news, staying in touch with family and friends or even jumping into a multiplayer video game at 35,000 feet.
The connectivity works across smartphones, tablets and laptops, with multiple devices supported simultaneously.
It's powered by Starlink, the low-Earth orbit satellite network known for its high-speed, low-latency performance—meaning passengers can expect a reliable connection rather than the sluggish service that once made in-flight internet more frustrating than useful.
Air France has already equipped select Embraer 190, Airbus A220 and Airbus A350 aircraft with the technology, extending high-speed Wi-Fi to both regional and long-haul routes. The airline plans to cover 30% of its fleet by the end of the year with full fleet rollout targeted for 2026.
For frequent flyers especially, the free connectivity paired with a Flying Blue membership is quickly becoming one of the better perks in the sky.
