Flights are about to get a little more refreshing this summer, thanks to Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines.
The combined carriers are launching new beverage selections across all of their cabins in time for summer vacation. The new drink options range from top-tier Champagne and West Coast wines to cold brew from an iconic Pacific Northwest coffee brand.
"As summer travel ramps up, we're excited to introduce a beverage program that truly reflects what today's guests are looking for when it comes to quality, craftsmanship and sense of discovery," said Mark Krolick, managing director of products and guest experience at Alaska Airlines.
Passengers on select Alaska Airlines flights will have exclusive access to a new first-of-its-kind cold brew from Stumptown Coffee. The Portland-based company’s Copilot Cold Brew will be complimentary in First and Premium and available for purchase in the Main Cabin on domestic routes and on flights to Reykjavík, Iceland.
The two carriers are also launching a new business class wine program on long-haul international routes. Among the new lineup’s highlights are Louis Roederer Collection Champagne, as well as notable selections from two California winemakers: Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Armillary Cabernet Sauvignon and Paul Hobbs Russian River Chardonnay.
But travelers at the front of the plane aren’t the only ones getting a revamped wine list. Hawaiian Airlines is rolling out a new wine program from Tide & Vine on domestic flights in its Main Cabin. Among the new selections for purchase are a red blend, a white blend, and brut bubbles.
A portion of the proceeds from Tide & Vine wine purchases will benefit Mālama Maunalua, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to restore and protect Hawaii's Maunalua Bay off the coast of Oahu.
