Travelers looking to visit California’s illustrious wine region in Sonoma County this fall now have more convenient flight options, thanks to Alaska Airlines’ latest network expansion.
The Seattle-based carrier is doubling down on its service to Northern California with three new routes to Santa Rosa, California, the gateway city to the area’s vineyard scene.
Starting November 1, Alaska will launch three seasonal flights to Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS). All three flights will be operated by regional Embraer 175 jets from airports in the western U.S., including Boise, Idaho (BOI); Phoenix (PHX); and Salt Lake City, Utah (SLC).
The new routes will operate up to once per day through late April 2027. With the three new flights, Alaska’s total number of nonstop destinations served from Santa Rosa will grow to 12. The carrier was the first commercial airline to launch flights at STS nearly 20 years ago.
In addition to its expansion in Sonoma, Alaska also announced it will be bringing back service to Long Beach, California, after a nearly 10-year hiatus from the airport.
Alaska plans to launch twice-daily, year-round flights to Long Beach Municipal Airport (LGB) from Seattle (SEA) on September 8, 2026.
“Alaska is committed to California, and we’re proud to offer guests across the state even more options for their next vacation or work trip,” said Kirsten Amrine, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of network planning and revenue management. “Whether you’re in Santa Rosa looking for a winter escape to the snow or sun, or a SoCal traveler looking for a convenient alternative to the region’s busiest airports, this expansion has you covered.”
