Football fans will now have additional ways to get to the biggest game of the year, thanks to American Airlines.
The carrier has announced it will increase its operations to the Bay Area, where the Super Bowl is being held in 2026, by more than 450% in February.
From February 5 to 10, 2026, American will add 10,000 more seats on routes to San Jose, California (SJC). The airport is just a 10-minute drive from Levi's Stadium, where Super Bowl LX is scheduled to take place on February 8, 2026.
“There’s no better way to see the action than live in the stadium, and American has consistently kept fans in mind this season with our largest-ever fall football schedule, and now with added flights for the season’s final matchup,” said Jason Reisinger, American’s managing director of global network planning.
The airline plans to operate larger aircraft on existing SJC-bound routes from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Phoenix (PHX). Additionally, American will add special flights from Charlotte (CLT), Chicago (ORD), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), New York (JFK), and Philadelphia (PHL).
Fares for all of the special flights are now on sale.
The carrier says that as the NFL season continues, it will evaluate more opportunities to add even more fan flights from cities whose teams are playing in the big game.
