Corporate travelers will receive a host of new perks this summer, thanks to a new business loyalty tier from American Airlines’ AAdvantage Business program.
The new tier is called AAdvantage Business Select and is designed to provide additional benefits for companies that spend $250,000 or more per calendar year with American.
Businesses that meet that threshold will now unlock added perks, including savings of up to 4% on eligible fares, preferred boarding in Group 5 for travelers, and immediate access to company-earned miles for free travel and employee transfer.
The additional tier builds upon American’s original AAdvantage Business level. The experience and benefits of that original tier are unchanged and remain available to companies that spend less than $250,000 per calendar year.
Similar to frequent flier accounts, the business loyalty program is free for companies to join, and it allows both companies and their individual travelers to earn rewards.
All members of AAdvantage Business will continue to earn 1 AAdvantage mile per dollar spent on eligible travel, and companies’ registered travelers can also still earn additional loyalty points to help with their own path to elite status.
“The AAdvantage Business™ program was designed to meet small and medium-sized businesses where they are and provide them with a way to make business travel more seamless and valuable,” said Lucas Martin, American’s senior vice president of sales. “Adding the AAdvantage Business Select™ tier allows us to further enhance the benefits that our most valuable members earn.”
AAdvantage Business Select is scheduled to officially roll out on July 21.
