Travelers flying out of one of American Airlines' busiest hubs will soon have a sweeping new space to relax and unwind before boarding.
The Dallas-based carrier has just announced new plans to build its largest-ever Admirals Club lounge in Charlotte (CLT).
The massive new space will span more than 40,000 square feet when it opens in the airport’s atrium area on the mezzanine level.
Inside, travelers will have access to different zones dedicated to work, relaxation, dining, and more.
The lounge will also include spa-style shower suites and views of the airport concourse below. Construction on the new lounge is set to begin later in 2026.
“Designing a lounge that gives our customers more space to relax, work and recharge is our top priority,” said American’s Chief Customer Officer Heather Garboden. “We’re incredibly excited to bring our biggest Admirals Club® lounge yet to CLT, where millions of customers pass through every year.”
While the capacious new Admirals Club is being built, travelers will continue to have access to American’s other premium spaces in Charlotte, which include the grab-and-go style Provisions by Admirals Club near Gate A1 and Admirals Club lounges in Concourse B and Concourse C/D.
The new lounge is part of a larger initiative at American to enhance the premium experience for its passengers, including building new lounges at its busiest airports.
In addition to the largest Admirals Club, Charlotte will also soon be home to a forthcoming Flagship lounge, which is American’s most premium lounge category.
