Delta Air Lines took its first delivery of the Airbus A350 last week-the first of 25 new planes the carrier ordered to replace its fleet of Boeing 747-400 aircraft.
According to Business Insider, the new Airbus A350 planes will increase Delta's high-end options and fuel-efficiency, resulting in a 20 percent improvement in operating cost per seat.
The new fleet of planes from Airbus will be the first fitted with the Delta One first class suites.
They feature a full-height door at every suite, sliding privacy dividers between center suites, customizable ambient lighting, dedicated stowage compartments, contemporary designs, memory foam comfort cushions, an 18-inch entertainment monitor plus a universal power outlet and high-powered USB port at every seat.
Each Airbus A350 features 32 new Delta One suites, as well as 48 seats in Delta Premium Select, which offer 38 inches of pitch and 19 inches of width, in-flight blankets and pillows, amenity kits, noise-canceling headphones, pre-departure beverage service, a 13.3-inch in-flight entertainment screen, in-seat power ports and Sky Priority service.

The main cabin of the new planes will also boast 226 of the largest economy passenger seats in Delta's fleet and will be made with memory foam cushions.
The first Airbus A350 delivered last week will begin service between Detroit and Narita, Japan, October 30, before flying to destinations like South Korea, China and other Asian countries.
