JetBlue is making some strategic changes to its route network as it navigates economic uncertainty that has been rippling through the U.S. airline industry.

The New York-based carrier said it will end its route to Miami International Airport (MIA) after September 3, according to CBS News.

JetBlue operates one route to MIA from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), with one to two flights per day. However, the airline has more robust networks at nearby Florida airports, including Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). Routes to those airports will stay intact for now.

The final flight on the Miami-to-Boston route will operate on September 3. Customers with bookings after that date will be contacted by the airline and offered a refund or alternate travel options.

The change is part of a larger effort by JetBlue to end service on routes that aren’t performing well financially in order to focus more resources on more profitable ones. Earlier in June, JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty told employees in an internal memo that the carrier would be reducing flights due to soft travel demand.

At the same time that it’s winding down its Miami route, JetBlue said it would be adding its Mint business class cabin to more routes this winter, including bringing the product to Orlando International Airport (MCO) for the first time.

Starting on October 30, 2025, the carrier will offer two daily flights with Mint business class from Orlando to Las Vegas International Airport (LAS). The two daily flights will operate through March 28, 2026, after which one daily flight will continue year round.

“Orlando has always been an important city to JetBlue, and we’re excited to debut Mint service in this market with flights to Las Vegas,” said Dave Jehn, JetBlue’s vice president, network planning and airline partnerships. “As we celebrate 25 years in Orlando, this marks an exciting new chapter for us and our Central Florida customers, who can now enjoy lie-flat seats, curated restaurant-style dining and premium benefits on a new leisure route, just in time for the winter travel season.”

The Mint cabin also offers Tuft & Needle bedding, wellness kits, and even sliding privacy doors on select routes.

As part of the expansion, JetBlue will also launch Mint on a new winter seasonal route from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Las Vegas, launching January 5, 2026, and continuing through June 10.

Additionally, Mint flights on the carrier’s route between Newark and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will be extended through January 4, 2026. Mint service on that route was originally scheduled to end in October, so the new extension means travelers can now fly in the business class cabin during the holiday travel season.
