San Antonio International Airport to Receive $2 Million FAA Grant

The check is in the mail. Unless it’s been electronically deposited. Either way, the San Antonio International Airport is receiving a nice little boost of cash to help make improvements. 

A $2 million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration has been awarded to San Antonio International Airport. SAT will receive a total of $2.2 million from the FAA as part of the agency’s Airport Improvement Program.

The money will go toward the renovation of the roof above Terminal A.

“We’re so thankful to get this funding to help improve SAT,” said Jesus Saenz, Director of Airports, San Antonio Airport System, in a statement. “We jumped at this opportunity to apply for the grant when we learned about the Notice of Funding Opportunity that was released in December.”

The project is expected to be completed by March of next year.

San Antonio is one of 60 airports that will receive an FAA grant. The agency has $267 million to disperse among airports and last year it donated to 76 projects.
