Southwest Airlines is putting spring flights on sale in celebration of Valentine's Day this February.
When travelers book with the Dallas-based low-cost carrier now through midnight PT on February 22, they can take advantage of fares from lower than $50 one-way and $100 roundtrip.
The 10-day sale requires a 21-day advance purchase and is valid for travel within the continent U.S. taking place between March 5 and May 29, 2024. Meanwhile, international, Hawaii and San Juan, Puerto Rico travel is valid from March 5 through May 22, 2024.
Travel from the continental U.S. to international destinations, San Juan and Hawaii is blacked out from March 12-27, 2024, while travel to the continental U.S. from San Juan, Hawaii and international destinations is blacked out from March 9 through April 3, 2024.
New data shows that the best time to book cheap flights this year is approximately 42 days in advance of departure on average and passengers can net even more savings by flying mid-week on a Tuesday or Wednesday.
If travelers have the flexibility, they'll want to target flights between Southwest's operating bases in the following cities: Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago (Midway), Dallas (Love Field), Denver, Houston (Hobby), Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Nashville, Oakland, Orlando, Phoenix (Sky Harbor), St. Louis and Tampa.
