It’s Spirit Airlines' birthday, and the low-cost carrier wants to celebrate with its most loyal fans.
In honor of its 33rd anniversary, Spirit is giving away 33 pairs of free round-trip flights for super fans of the airline and a travel companion. To enter for their chance to win the free airfare, travelers must visit the airline’s Instagram page @SpiritAirlines and leave a comment on why they choose to fly Spirit. Travelers must also tag their travel companion they’d bring along for the free flight and include the hashtag #Spirit33.
The contest will run until June 8 at 11:59 p.m. ET, so be sure to leave your comments before then. Entrants must be at least 18 years old, a United States resident, and have a public Instagram account. On June 12, the 33 winners will be selected by a random drawing and be notified by direct message on Instagram.
Winners will be issued a voucher that they can exchange for two Spirit fares between any of the airports where Spirit operates, including connecting flights, worth up to $800 each. The fares will also include a carry-on bag, a checked bag, and a personal item.
The airline flies all over the U.S., Latin America, and the Caribbean, including top vacation destinations like Cancun and San José del Cabo in Mexico; St. Thomas and St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands; San Jose, Costa Rica; and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Domestic vacation destinations include Fort Lauderdale, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and a new flight to Savannah, Georgia, launching August 14.
This year, the carrier has made some major changes, including adding more premium fares that include extra legroom seats, complimentary snacks and beverages, and better loyalty program perks. "Many travelers know they can count on us for affordable fares, but Spirit's super fans know we offer so much more with an elevated Guest experience, premium options and great value," said Rana Ghosh, Spirit’s senior vice president and chief commercial officer. "Nearly a year after launching our major transformation, we're proud to see our enhancements are resonating with our Guests."
The airline also ranked No. 1 in on-time performance among North American airlines for April 2025.
