Ahead of the United States’ 250th Anniversary, United Airlines is celebrating America in style.
The carrier has unveiled a new patriotic-themed “stars and stripes” livery that’s set to launch this summer on two aircraft: a Boeing 787-10 and Boeing 737-800.
The newly painted planes feature a blue fuselage with red and white stripes and 50 stars that represent all 50 states.
But the America-themed aircraft are celebrating more than just the nation’s 250 years. The festive liveries are launching as United reaches a historic milestone in its United Military Pilot Program.
The initiative gives active-duty U.S. military pilots expedited access to conditional job offers as First Officers.
Since 2024, the program has hired nearly 600 military pilots, and 500 more are expected to transition to the airline by the end of 2027.
“Today, we proudly employ more than 8,300 military veterans, of which 1,500 are active members of the National Guard and Reserve forces,” said United CEO Scott Kirby. “Our 'Stars and Stripes' livery pays tribute to their service to our country that continues to make America strong."
