After the chaos Hurricane Harvey caused in Texas and Louisiana, officials from United Airlines have announced that all scheduled flights to and from Houston will begin operating by Friday.
According to the Chicago Tribune, United started gradually operating flights at George Bush Intercontinental Airport when the facility reopened. Recovery at the Houston airport was originally expected to take two full weeks, but the process was completed quicker than expected.
Officials from George Bush Intercontinental Airport, United's second-largest hub, are advising passengers to check the facility's website for the status of their flight. United spokesman Charlie Hobart said, "If the website says a flight is operating, we intend to operate it."
On a normal day of operations, United has around 450 scheduled flights departing from George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
United is expected to take a large financial hit as a result of the storm, with financial analysts telling the Chicago Tribune that the airline could take a potential loss of around $266 million.
