Qatar Airways is launching a new pre-select dining service for premium passengers this summer.
The new feature will allow passengers in First Class and Business Class to create personalized meals prior to boarding select long-haul flights from Doha, Qatar.
The pre-select dining service is rolling out on flights to Europe, North America, South America, Australia and New Zealand. The airline said it will expand the premium service to other regions later this year.
Eligible passengers will now be able to choose a main course from an a la carte onboard menu as far out as 14 days in advance of their flight or as last-minute as up to 24 hours before take-off.
Customers can pre-select their meal online or through the Qatar Airways mobile app. Passengers taking the online route can log into "My Trips" to make their selection from a seasonal menu.

"We are constantly looking for innovative ways to refine and enhance our products and services," said Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker in a statement. "Our new Pre-Select Dining service follows the introduction of our groundbreaking Business Class seat, Qsuite, earlier this year."

Qatar Airways unveiled its new Qsuite at the 2017 Paris Air Show back in June. The four-person suite is unique, able to shift depending on whether passengers prefer a private or more open setting.
The addition, as well as the airline's enhanced meal offerings for premium passenger represent key steps for the Gulf carrier as it seeks to build on its success at the 2017 Skytrax World Airline Awards, in which it was named Airline of the Year.
