Southwest Airlines announced Tuesday it has partnered with Nintendo to offer travelers the chance to celebrate the adventures of Super Mario Odyssey in style.
Starting Tuesday and running through March 16, eligible residents of the United States who visit the official Southwest website may enter to win one of 30 Nintendo Switch prize packs and one grand prize, which includes roundtrip air travel for four.
With the intent of appealing to both video game enthusiasts and Southwest customers alike, the airline is promoting the sweepstakes to encourage travelers to book a getaway and explore the 100 destinations the carrier serves.
"Southwest is dedicated to providing memorable experiences for our customers," Southwest director of communication Brandy King said in a statement. "As customers plan their future adventures on Southwest, we're excited to give them a chance to take Nintendo Switch and Mario with them along the way."
The grand prize winner of the Southwest sweepstakes will receive a prize package complete with roundtrip air travel for four, a $1,000 Starwood Preferred Guest gift card and a Nintendo Switch prize pack.
"Super Mario Odyssey is all about travel, exploration, and that feeling you get when you discover something new and exciting," Nintendo of America vice president Doug Bowser said. "We're excited to partner with Southwest so our fans can have memorable journeys in-game and in real life."
Twenty-nine runner-up prize winners will receive a Nintendo Switch prize pack, which includes one Nintendo Switch system, one Game Traveler: Deluxe Super Mario Odyssey Travel Case, one Super Mario Odyssey Collector's Edition Guide, and the critically acclaimed Super Mario Odyssey video game.
