That death knell to summer and most dreaded phrase in the language, "Back to school," is being sounded by VIA Rail Canada as it promotes two new products that should be a big help to students travelers aged 12 to 25 (and 26+ with ISIC card): the 20/20 Discount Card and the Unlimited Semester Pass.
"Whether travelling between school and home, visiting friends or exploring new destinations, these discounts make train travel more attractive and affordable. Also, VIA offers complementary Wi-Fi on the Québec City-Windsor corridor, making young travelers trips seamlessly connected", says Martin R. Landry, VIA Rail's COO.
Priced at $20, the v20/20 Discount Card offers 20 percent discounts throughout a year on Economy or Economy Plus fares across VIA Rail's network. It also offers a 10 percent discount on VIA Rail's Escape fares. The Unlimited Semester Pass allows unlimited travel between Kingston and Windsor or Kingston and Québec City for a period of 120 days, in Economy class for $499 + taxes. The offers are for a limited-time only through Sept. 19.
