As part of an expanded partnership between car rental company Sixt and Lufthansa, passengers will now be able to add a rental when booking their flight online through the German airline's official website.

Passenger and flight data will be carried over automatically, ensuring travelers will not be forced to input their information twice.

Passengers renting their vehicles through Lufthansa's official website will also have access to the entire Sixt rental car fleet, including premium vehicles for business meetings and vans designed for family vacations.

As for members of the Miles&More frequent flyer and rewards program, those who capitalize on the expanded partnership will receive at least 500 premium miles with each Sixt Rent a Car booking.

"Sixt and Lufthansa are linked by their long-standing cooperation and also have lots of things in common. Both companies are strong international brands, leading in their industries and bywords for quality and service," Sixt head of sales Konstantin Sixt said in a statement.

"We therefore go extremely well together as partners. For this reason, we attach particular importance to this collaboration and are already looking forward to offering all Lufthansa passengers comprehensive premium services from Sixt."

"We at Lufthansa aim to offer our customers the best travel experience on the market," Lufthansa senior vice president Heike Birlenbach said in a statement.

"With Sixt as our premium car rental partner, we can offer our customers a high- quality mobility product in the form of an excellent complementary service. To this end, we have placed our trust in Sixt as an internationally operating car rental provider and market leader in Germany."

The expanded partnership with Lufthansa is not Sixt's only airline ally, as the car rental company and All Nippon Airways, Japan's largest carrier, announced the signing of a global partnership in 2016.
