Luxury river cruise line AmaWaterways began sailing its new Flavors of Burgundy itinerary on May 25, National Wine Day, and also released the list of Wine Hosts joining its hosted departures for the 2025 Celebration of Wine River Cruises.
The Flavors of Burgundy itinerary is just one of the 21 different Celebration of Wine River Cruises AmaWaterways offers with hosted wine experts. The region, which is known for its wine production, will entrance travelers with wine tastings in Tournus, Mâcon and Lyon.
A hosted Wine River Cruise itinerary will include a qualified wine expert from North America or Europe to enhance travelers’ experiences.
In 2025, AmaWaterways will offer over 70 Celebration of Wine River Cruises. For example, on March 20, 2025, travelers embarking on the Enchanting Rhine Celebration of Wine River Cruise will enjoy a scenic cruise with Wine Host Kathy Joseph, Owner and Winemaker at Fiddlehead Cellars in Lompoc, California.
“Delving into regional wine specialties throughout Europe enables our guests to gain a deeper appreciation for a country, its history, culture and people,” said Kristin Karst, co-founder and executive vice president of AmaWaterways. “We have always placed a high priority on serving fine wines that are often sourced from vineyards visited by our guests during one of their many included excursions.”
“With the Flavors of Burgundy itinerary, discerning guests have an opportunity to visit Lyon, ‘France’s Culinary Capital’ and discover a less visited region in France that boasts some of the most iconic vineyards and charming châteaux,” continued Karst.
