Azamara Club Cruises announced a third sister-ship.

Azamara Pursuit will join Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest in March 2018.

"We are pleased to expand our portfolio by 50%, allowing us to visit even more regions of the world through the acquisition of this sister ship," said Larry Pimentel, President and CEO of Azamara Club Cruises, in a press release.

"Our loyal guests and travel partners have asked for this expansion for a long time; we are very pleased to deliver this to them."

The news comes after P&O Cruises revealed it is selling its 30,277-ton Adonia. Azamara has confirmed to TravelPulse that it is the ship the upscale line is purchasing. All three are former Renaissance Cruises ships. Journey, formerly R Six; Quest, previously R Seven, and Pursuit, once R Eight, are the three newest-built vessels for the original line.

As Adonia, the ship sailed not only for P&O, but for Fathom as well, traveling to Cuba. Under Azamara, it will further the brand's dedication to destination immersion and ports such as Havana, which is ideal for small ship cruising. The Royal Caribbean Cruises' Limited subsidiary will stay longer in port featuring overnight international stays.

Keeping with Journey and Quest's recent revitalizations, the Azamara Pursuit will be remodeled. The ship's last sailing as Adonia will be February 23-March 9, 2018 roundtrip from Barbados. Its first sailing as Pursuit will be in August 2018.

"During her time with us Adonia has captured the hearts of many thousands of P&O Cruises guests," P&O Cruises SVP Paul Ludlow said. "She has ventured into new ports of call around the globe and has negotiated Icelandic Fjords, European rivers and Caribbean coves. We will ensure that these discovery itineraries are continued on other ships in the fleet."

"With almost six months until Adonia leaves the fleet, we will ensure that each of the cruises in her final season with us are extra special and celebratory."

For those keeping track, that will leave four of the remaining R-ships sailing for Oceania Cruises and a sole one still with Carnival Corporation under its Princess Cruises banner.

Azamara Pursuit's deployment schedule will be released in October 2017.
