After a successful 2015, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), the largest worldwide travel agent member program, has modified its Agency and Individual Agent Membership (IAM) programs to be a valuable resource in 2016 and has launched a Valentine's Day-themed giveaway to thank its members.
Last year, the organization exceeded its North American goals by enrolling 9,000 travel agencies and 18,000 individual travel agent members. Now, the "CLIA Loves Agents" promotion will give CLIA-Member agencies five opportunities to win a $100 American Express gift card in a random sweepstakes by enrolling for 2016 before Feb. 15.
EMBARC ID and Benefits
CLIA put out a survey to its members and included its results in the updated 2016 member benefit package. Such feedback led to the refreshed and rebranded EMBARC (Enrolled Member Benefit And Recognition Card) ID, previously known as the CLIA Card. This is the official credential of the cruise industry and an exclusive for CLIA Individual Agent members. The ID grants over 200 benefits with more to come throughout the year.

Benefits include priority confirmation on FAM trips, seminars at sea and ship inspections on CLIA Cruise Line Member ships, as well as commission privileges and personal travel benefits with a selection of travel suppliers like air consolidators, rental car companies, hotels, resorts, attractions and CLIA Global Cruise Line Members.
Membership Types and Benefits
There are two types of CLIA memberships available with different tiers therein. CLIA Agency Membership can be enrolled as Silver, Gold or a Diamond level agency, and CLIA Individual Agent Members (IAM) can be enrolled for solo professionals.
Membership benefits include news and content in the monthly Travel Agent Cruise News newsletter, tools featured in the members-only myCLIA section of cruising.org, CLIA Cruise tv, the CLIA Agent Finder, priority access to exclusive professional development opportunities and a wide range of resources such as a new State of the Cruise Industry online course.
What's more is CLIA members will enjoy a $100 discount on registration at Cruise360, the official conference of the cruise industry, geared towards agents, in Vancouver, British Columbia this June.
