A cruise ship waiter is being hailed as a hero.
Guests of Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas are praising Nitin Kumar on social media for his swift actions. On June 8, a glass panel began to crack above the ship’s pool deck, sending a cascade of glass shards onto the deck chairs below, reports People.
Fortunately, Kumar noticed the panel starting to crumble and sprang into action. Guests said he sprinted down to the pool deck and told the passengers in the deck chairs to get out of the way.

The ship was sailing from Bayonne, New Jersey, to Port Canaveral, Florida, though it’s not clear what caused the glass to break.
“Thanks to the fast thinking of one of the best Nitin, these seats were vacant when the safety glass gave way,” one guest posted on Facebook. “You are truly an asset to Royal Caribbean and a hero to the many people you removed from harm’s way. Great job!"
