The port of San Diego has a reason to be excited.

Today, Disney Cruise Line announced its plans to increase its presence in America's Finest City for early 2019. The brand is also recommitting to the Caribbean with other domestic departures.

The Disney Wonder will return to the Californian city for a two-month season scheduled from March to May of 2019. A variety of itineraries will include two-, four-, five- and seven-night sailings to Mexico with most calling on Ensenada.

Two-night cruises are ideal for weekend getaways, leaving on Fridays and returning on Sundays. Four- and five-night routes add in Cabo San Lucas, and seven-night voyages include Cabo as well as Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan.

Altogether, the sailings feature Baja and the Mexican Riviera's pristine beaches and water activities as well as the Sierra Madre Mountains and jungle zip-lining.

Of course, the Caribbean remains a mainstay of Disney departures. San Juan, Puerto Rico will be a homeport to Southern Caribbean itineraries in January 2019, with a trio of six-and seven-night trips will take the Disney Wonder to neighboring tropical islands.

The remaining Disney Magic will be doing so from Miami on four- and five-night cruises to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean. Additional featured ports encompass Nassau and Key West or Grand Cayman or Cozumel.

These 2019 itineraries only anticipate the coming of an even larger Disney Cruise Line fleet with a fifth, sixth and seventh ship coming online in 2021, 2022 and 2023 respectively. By then, it is expected that route options will only expand more.

For now, reservations for the new 2019 itineraries will open on November 2, 2017.
