Mark Tamis, president of Seabourn, is taking on a new leadership role, adding responsibility for guest experience and product development across both Holland America Line and Seabourn.
Tamis, who joined the company in November 2024, has held senior roles at Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
“I am truly excited to take on this expanded role while continuing to serve as President of Seabourn,” says Tamis. “Leading Seabourn is an honor, and that commitment remains unchanged. I look forward to bringing my decades of experience in luxury hospitality, guest operations, and food & beverage to further elevate the distinct guest experience cultures of both Holland America Line and Seabourn.”
The expanded role comes as Michael Smith, senior vice president of guest experience and product development, is retiring May 1. Smith will transition over the next few months and continue as a consultant on ship refurbishment after his retirement.
“Michael’s leadership has made a lasting impact on our business, and his influence is visible across the award-winning service and product on our ships,” says Beth Bodensteiner, president of Holland America Line. “As Michael begins his transition, Mark’s expertise and leadership style will allow us to continue delivering the exceptional service, culinary excellence and extraordinary entertainment that our guests expect.”
The company also promoted Michael Stendebach to senior vice president of food, beverage and rooms for Holland America and Seabourn.
