MSC Cruises has updated the service schedule for its newest vessel, MSC Seaview. The 15th ship in the MSC fleet is in its final construction stages at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. She will require a few extra days of final fitting.
Accordingly, MSC Cruises will now take delivery of the ship on June 4. Her inaugural ceremony will take place in Genoa, Italy, on June 9. Though the short cruise originally planned from June 7 to 10 will be canceled, her first full sailing will take place as planned, departing June 10 from Genoa.
MSC Seaview features a "beach condo" design similar to sister ship MSC Seaside. Highlights include the longest zip line on a cruise ship and sea views from the 262-ft high Bridge of Sighs. An interactive aquapark features four waterslides, while dining venues include chef Roy Yamaguchi's Asian Market Kitchen.
MSC Seaview is the newest flagship for the line. She's the second in the Seaside class of ships, following MSC Seaside's debut in December 2017. MSC Seaview will spend the summer of 2018 in the Mediterranean. She will call in Barcelona, Naples and Valletta, Malta, among other destinations.
The line currently has two ships under construction at the STX France shipyard. The Meraviglia-class MSC Bellissima and Meraviglia Plus-class Grandiosa will debut in 2019.
